The purpose of the Town School Clothes Closet is to ensure that boys can attend Town School REGARDLESS of financial need. The store is a continuous fundraising project of the Town School for Boys Parent's Association and all proceeds from the store go directly to the Tuition Assistance and Faculty Enrichment Programs at Town School for Boys.
The Town School Clothes Closet was started in 1950 by two Town School mothers who literally set up shop in a closet on the school campus. Their intent was for families to hand down boy's gently used clothing to one another. The momentum grew and became the thriving business it is today.
Over the last 10 years the Clothes Closet has raised $2 MILLION for the Tuition Assistance and Faculty Enrichment Programs at Town School. Participation of the Town School Community is essential to the success of the store. The Town parents can support the store by donating items and volunteering to work at the store.
The store relies on high quality donations from the community. Donations can be dropped off Monday through Saturday between the hours of 11am to 4pm. A tax donation letter is sent at the end of each year to acknowledge donations.
